These mayflies were all over the place and had the trout looking up. I have fished this stretch of water countless times and I can easily say this was the most trout I have ever caught from this stretch in a single session. As soon as the dry fly hit the water the trout were on it and several were had in each pool and run.
I also notice that I drive a whole lot slower on the way from a trout stream then I do to the trout.
Some Monday dry fly therapy never hurt.
East or west side.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trout.
It is a East Sloper. The West Slopers are pretty hard pressed for water this time of year.
DeleteThose fish are gorgeous. Maybe a weird question, but do you often see fish with such a red tail down there? That's got to be the most crimson tail I have seen on a brookie... and the halo's are unreal on those fish too. WOW!
ReplyDeleteThere is a drainage that I fished where the brookies from it seem to be colored up more so then other streams I fish. No idea why, but they seem to be.
DeleteBeautiful stream and scenery, and beautiful brookies. They go together perfectly.
