Cell Phone Range Brookies

Saturday I had a few hours to kill so I decided to hit a brookie stream close by.  My wife and I are expecting our first kid any day now, so only requirement is I have cell phone service just in case.  Luckily I know just the stream where I get a bar or two of service.  Fish were very active and the scenery was perfect as always.

Norfolk & Western 611 Roanoke Homecoming

This past Saturday the Norfolk & Western 611 made a trip from Spencer, NC to Roanoke, VA where it will spend some time at the Virginia Museum of Transportation.  The 611 is the last of the J class steam locomotives still running and recently underwent a facelift.  Figured since it was running right through town I'd go check it out.  Neat little piece of history.

Holly thought it was cool too.
