First off I just want to say thanks to all the guys on here who have served in the military or have had family members and friends lost in the military. I started out that day before hitting the water by saying a little prayer for all the friends and families who have lost loved ones in the military.
I was able to sneak away on memorial day morning to get a couple hours of fishing. I was able to hit a wild bow stream. I don't have much experience with rainbows as I prefer brookies, so its taking some getting use to the aerial jumps these guys do. I lost about ten due to these crazy jumps. Had one bow fly out of the pool and down to the next with one three foot high leap.
For not planning on fishing on memorial weekend, I was very pleased! Thanks for reading.

Single Brookie
After work I headed to the hills for some evening brookie action. Got caught in the thunderstorm so it was a short trip with only one brookie brought to hand, but a brute of brookie at that.
That's all I have for this evening. Thanks for reading.

High Water
I'm a little late posting this up, but last Thursday I managed to get in a solid hour of fishing after work. Got out of work at 5, was in the water by 6 and driving back by 7:30. Water was the highest I have ever seen it though.
I just fished with tungsten and casted it the "slow" spots. Managed to dredge up about a dozen brookies.
Nothing gigantic, but enough to keep me very very pleased. Especially since I thought it was going to be a bust with how high the water was!

Graduation Pre Celebration
Have graduation events both tomorrow and the next so a buddy and me hit the James for a float. Unfortunately neither of us checked the flow and it was high and muddy. It was a bust but nice getting out on the river and getting good rowing experience. On the way back over the mountains I stopped by a stream that I haven't quite figured out. Fished for an hour and brought two wild bows to hand. It was a nice day and even got to throw in some wild trout into today
Thanks for reading and hopefully I'll be able to find some time to fish in these next few busy weeks.......

James River Float
Floated a section of the James River today with a couple guys I know and it was a blast. Had the Clackacraft and kayak. Brought about twenty smallies to hand. A guy in the group hooked into a decent sized musky which tore his tippet too shreds. Such a beast fish.
Thanks for reading. Planning on floating again this Thursday.
Caught lots of these as well |
Big sucker |
There out! Shouldn't be long till trout and smallies are keying in on them. |
Thanks for reading. Planning on floating again this Thursday.
